Plane Shapes or Flat Shapes
There are many plane shapes. Some famous shapes are
given below.
Triangle
It is a triangle.
It has 3 corners and 3 sides.
Rectangle
It is a rectangle.
It has 4 corners and 4 sides.
The pair of
opposite sides of a rectangle are equal.
Square
It is a square.
It has 4 corners and 4 sides.
All the
sides of a square are equal.
Circle
It is a circle.
It has neither corners nor sides.
Oval
It is an
oval. It also has no sides and no corners.
Solid Shapes
The commonly
used solid shapes are as follows.
Cube
A cube has
8 corners.
It has 6
flat faces.
Each face is
a square.
A cube has
12 straight edges.
Cuboid
A cuboid has
8 corners.
It has 6
flat faces.
Each face is
a rectangle.

Cylinder
A cylinder
has no corners.
It has 3
faces—1 curved and 2 flat.
